Me: Testing, Testing, Okay, Let’s Go.
Me: Question 1; What made you interested in studying journalism?
Vashti: I was interested in studying journalism because I was interested in people.
Me: I see. Okay, Question 2: What is your dream job?
Vashti: My dream job used to be a foreign correspondent, travel the world and learn about everyone, cultural settings. But since I’ve learnt about the world, I’ve found that I’m too empathic, and it would make me an unhappy person to see other people in suffering. So, um, now I’d like to go into radio and, um, probably in Rural Australia somewhere, learn about people in Rural Australia, and report about that on the radio, I think that we don’t hear enough about what’s happening in our own backyard
Me: Hmm, Interesting. Now, Question 3: What are your hobbies?
Vashti: -chuckles- Hobbies, um, I play computer games, and that was really the biggest one. Also, I (sort of) try and help look after my little brothers a bit from a distance, I’m always on the phone with them, on Skype, talking to my younger brothers. I like to spend time with people, talking, learning about them, that sort of thing.
Me: How was life for you before you came to the university?
Vashti: I moved around a lot, I attended around fourteen schools by the time I got to Grade 12. It was okay, I liked living around with my family. It’s been very different since I’ve started Uni, because I’m away from my family, they live in Tasmania, so here in Wollongong is pretty far away.
Me: And my final question, drumroll please, what….is your favorite color?
Vashti: I don’t have a favorite color. I like all colors, especially when they’re together. I like rainbows.
Me: Thank you for your time, Vashti, you’ve been a wonderful interviewee.
Vashti: -giggles- Thank you.
